A fine Victorian chamber vessel in black transferware, produced by Brownhills & Co. of Staffordshire. The piece features a bold neoclassical-style border with urns, anthemion leaves, and stylized ornamentation. Originally intended for functional use in the 19th century, it now serves beautifully as a decorative object—perfect for styling as a planter, cachepot, or conversation piece.

The underside bears the British Patent Office lozenge registration mark, confirming the design was officially registered in the 1870s. The mark also includes the initials B & C for Brownhills & Co., who were active between 1872 and 1896 and known for producing fine quality transferware across a variety of patterns.
