Turbo Shell Caviar Dish with Spoon
This elegant serving piece is formed from a polished turbo shell, displaying luminous natural iridescence across soft blush, champagne, and pearl tones. The shell is mounted on its original base, elevating it into a footed dish form, and accompanied by a matching mother-of-pearl spoon.
Dishes of this type were traditionally used for caviar or delicacies, as mother-of-pearl is non-reactive and preserves flavor. The sculptural asymmetry of the shell combined with the refined material makes this both a functional serving piece and a striking decorative object.
Origin: Unknown, Early 20th century.
Material: Hand-carved turbo shell.
Dimensions: Approx. 4.5" x 1.5" x 3.5".
Condition: Minor age-appropriate surface marks and natural variations to shell, consistent with hand-carved antique pieces. Glue attached top and bottom.
