French Figural Match Holder

Sale price$95.00

A beautifully cast French match holder depicting a seated lady in Victorian dress beside a woven basket, all resting on an ornate Rococo revival base. The sculpting is wonderfully detailed—draped fabric, textured wicker, and scrolling acanthus feet that give the piece an elegant presence.

Stamped L.S.F. on the underside, identifying it as work from Les Fonderies de Sougland, a long-established French foundry active since the 16th century, known for decorative domestic castings during the late 1800s through the early 1900s. This piece dates to roughly the 1880s–1920s.

A charming and functional collectible—perfect for holding matches, toothpicks, desk accessories, or simply styled as an old-world decorative accent.

Maker: Les Fonderies de Sougland (L.S.F.).
