Historic provenance:

Georgiana Spencer, Duchess of Devonshire (1757–1806), was an influential socialite, political activist, and fashion icon in 18th-century England. She married William Cavendish, the 5th Duke of Devonshire, becoming the Duchess of Devonshire. Known for her beauty, charm, and charisma, Georgiana was a leader in Whig politics, supported the arts, and set trends in society. Her life was marked by a complicated personal life, including a high-profile love triangle with her husband and her close friend, Lady Elizabeth Foster.

Georgiana is a direct ancestor of Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales. Diana was a distant niece of Georgiana’s, and both shared similar roles as iconic, beloved figures in British society who navigated public and private challenges. Their lives drew many parallels, from their aristocratic roots to their widespread popularity and influence.
