“Memoirs of the Empress Josephine” Two-Volume Set by Madame Ducrest (1894)

Sale price$275.00

An elegant late-19th-century two-volume set of Memoirs of the Empress Josephine, written by Madame Ducrest and published in London in 1894. The work recounts the life and court of Joséphine de Beauharnais—first wife of Napoleon Bonaparte—along with anecdotes from the courts of Navarre and Malmaison. Bound in handsome half leather with gilt-tooled spines and deep blue cloth boards, the volumes feature classic Victorian binding details and engraved portrait plates throughout. A beautiful historical set that brings both literary and decorative appeal to a bookshelf, study, or stacked library vignette.
