Leather-Bound Ballads of Scotland, Vol. II

Sale price$95.00

A richly toned Victorian leather-bound volume of Ballads of Scotland, edited by William Edmondstoune Aytoun and published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1886. This third edition was revised and augmented, issued in two volumes, with this example being Volume II.

Bound in warm brown leather with blind-tooled borders and decorative corner stamps, the book features a contrasting gilt spine label and classic Victorian proportions. The leather has developed a beautiful, even patina with age, making it an ideal styling piece for shelves, desks, or tabletop vignettes. Equally compelling displayed stacked or laid flat, it brings quiet literary presence without feeling overly precious.

Origin: Edinburgh & London, 1886.
Material: Leather-bound boards.
Condition: General wear consistent with age, including surface wear to leather and light toning to pages; structurally sound and well-bound.

Volume II of II (Vol. 1 not present).
