French Andiron Fronts

Sale price$195.00

A striking pair of antique cast iron andiron fronts, richly ornamented with classical revival detailing. Each features a twisted column shaft flanked by scrolling foliage and laurel wreath motifs, rising to a flame finial and supported by a molded base with paw feet. The surface shows a deep, timeworn patina with areas of oxidation and old surface loss, lending the pieces a beautifully aged, sculptural quality.

The rear functional iron supports are no longer present, and these are offered as decorative fronts only. Today, they lend themselves beautifully to reuse as architectural salvage, bookends, shelf accents, or standalone sculptural objects—perfect for adding historic character to a vignette, mantel, or library shelf.

Origin: Likely France, late 19th century.
Material: Cast iron.
Dimensions: 13" x 7".
Condition: Decorative fronts only; original rear supports missing. Surface wear, patina, and oxidation consistent with age; structurally solid as decorative objects.
