Etched Scallop Compote on Botanical Stand

Sale price$150.00

Sold as presented; to be candled by Salvage Bohemia.

Approx. 20 oz pour / $2.30 oz

A beautifully composed antique compote featuring a deeply cut and etched glass bowl set into a sculptural botanical metal stand by Merodi, Jacquard & Co. of St. Louis. The glass bowl displays crisp delicate etched foliage beneath a softly scalloped rim, while the metal base is formed of branching stems, leaves, and floral motifs in the Art Nouveau tradition.

The underside of the stand bears a clearly stamped Merodi Jacquard & Co., St. Louis maker’s mark, identifying this piece as American-made and dating it to the late 19th or early 20th century. The combination of refined glasswork with naturalistic metal forms creates a striking contrast and gives the piece its strong decorative presence.

Origin: United States, St. Louis, late 19th to early 20th century.
Material: Cut and etched glass; cast metal stand (marked Merodi Jacquard & Co.).
Dimensions: Approx. 8.5" x 7.5".
Condition: Very good antique condition with light wear to metal consistent with age; glass free of chips or cracks.
