


c. 1905 Chateau des Beaux Arts Match Holder
A collectable early 20th-century bronze match holder associated with the Chateau des Beaux Arts in Huntington, New York. The piece features an ornate crest-style backplate with scrolling details and a small dish designed to hold matches, centered with a decorative medallion referencing the establishment.
The Chateau des Beaux Arts was connected to restaurateur William Bernard Bustanoby, whose family operated several notable hospitality venues in New York during the Gilded Age and early 1900s and open for a very short time from 1905 to about 1912. Both decorative and functional, the piece reflects the elegant tabletop accessories commonly found in restaurants and homes of the period.
Origin: Huntington, New York, circa 1905.
Material: Cast bronze.

Condition: Wear and patina consistent with age; overall good antique condition.
