c. 1860s Works of Benjamin Disraeli
A handsome set of five 19th-century volumes from The Works of Benjamin Disraeli, edited by his son, Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli. Bound in half-leather with marbled boards and endpapers, the set includes Curiosities of Literature (in multiple volumes) and Amenities of Literature. Several volumes retain engraved frontispieces and plates, while one features a foldout manuscript facsimile. These decorative tomes lend a scholarly presence to any shelf, whether displayed in a library or styled as tabletop décor.
Incomplete - 6 volumes of a larger set.
Origin: England, c. 1862–1886.
Material: Leather, marbled paper.
Condition: Heavy wear throughout with losses to spines, rubbed boards, edge chipping, and cracked hinges. Text blocks remain intact. Engravings present in some volumes, occasional foxing, and one volume with a foldout manuscript facsimile. A worn but evocative set that reflects its age and use.
