Architectural Etching — “Rue des Marchands, Colmar” by Charles Pinet (1867-1932)

Sale price$195.00

A beautifully detailed architectural etching by Charles Pinet (1867–1932), celebrated French engraver and printmaker known for his sensitive depictions of historic European streets and architectural landmarks. This work captures Rue des Marchands in Colmar, one of the most picturesque medieval streets in Alsace, with its timber-framed façades, steep gables, and intimate scale rendered in Pinet’s characteristically refined linework.

The piece features a crisp plate impression, "CH" Monogram impression, atmospheric shading, and Pinet’s pencil signature beneath the image. Hallmarks of a hand-pulled artist’s print rather than a reproduction. His works are prized for their romantic yet accurate portrayal of old-world Europe, making this a timeless addition to collected gallery walls, libraries, or any interior inspired by European charm.

Framed in a contemporary moulding that complements the tonal warmth of the etching.
