Sporting Hunt Chromolithograph

Sale price$130.00 Regular price$175.00

A richly detailed 19th-century sporting chromolithograph depicting English huntsman Henry Oldaker mounted on his favorite hunter, surrounded by hounds in full pursuit. The original painting was executed by R. B. Davis, renowned animal painter to the King, and later issued as a lithograph by Ketterlinus of Philadelphia, one of the most respected American art printers of the 19th century active in Philadelphia from 1842-1886.

The composition captures the energy and pageantry of fox hunting, with exceptional attention paid to the musculature of the horse, the movement of the hounds, and the landscape beyond. This example retains strong color and fine detail and is housed in a handsome period burr-veneered frame with gilt slip, complementing the subject beautifully.

A classic piece of American sporting art, ideal for libraries, studies, or traditionally styled interiors.
