Cabinet Bust of Apollo with Lyre

Sale price$125.00

An antique petite cabinet bust depicting the Greek god Apollo, identifiable by the inscribed base and the small lyre at base. A classical attribute associated with Apollo as the god of music, poetry, and the arts. The figure is finely modeled in dark patinated metal, with softly idealized features and stylized hair characteristic of late 19th-century neoclassical revival sculpture.

The bust is mounted on a cylindrical marble pedestal with a stepped square base, lending both visual balance and architectural presence despite its small scale. This type of labeled, attribute-bearing cabinet bust was commonly produced in Europe in the late 1800s to early 1900s for scholars, collectors, and classically inspired interiors.

Origin: Europe, late 19th–early 20th century.
Material: Patinated metal bust with marble pedestal and base.
Dimensions: Approx. 6" x 3".
Condition: Surface wear and patina consistent with age; minor wear to metal and marble. Structurally sound and stable.
