






19th-Century English Tunbridge Ware Inlaid Box
An exceptional example of traditional English Tunbridge ware, featuring intricate geometric parquetry and mosaic inlay in contrasting light and dark woods. The lid is centered with a hexagonal inlaid escutcheon, flanked by finely banded borders showcasing the precision and craftsmanship associated with Tunbridge Wells workshops of the 19th century.
The inlay work remains crisp and visually striking, making it a standout object for display on a desk, coffee table, or within a cabinet of curiosities.
Origin: Tunbridge Wells, England, 19th century.
Material: Mixed hardwoods with parquetry and mosaic marquetry inlay.
Dimensions: Approx. 9.5" x 6.75" x 5.5".
Condition: Good antique condition; age-related wear and minor surface marks consistent with use, inlay intact though expanding in various areas (pictured).
