


18th c. Copperplate Engraving – King Charles I
This elegant copperplate engraving of King Charles I was originally created for Barnard’s New Complete & Authentic History of England. The plate includes an ornate neoclassical cartouche with floral and ribbon motifs, surrounding a full-length coronation portrait.
Recently custom-framed in a gilt frame with a archival gold edge mat. The juxtaposition of the 18th-century print with clean contemporary framing creates a timeless, gallery-ready presentation.
Origin: England, c. 1784, late 18th century.
Material: Copperplate engraving on laid paper; contemporary wooden frame with archival mat.
Dimensions: 16" x 20".
Condition: Light age toning, small specks consistent with age. Frame and mat excellent.
