"The History of France, 1790-1802" (1803) by John Adolphus, Esq.

Sale price$325.00

An early 19th-century edition of The History of France, from the Year 1790 to the Peace Concluded at Amiens in 1802 by John Adolphus, published in London in 1803. The work documents one of the most pivotal periods in French history, covering the French Revolution through the rise of Napoleon and the Treaty of Amiens.

Written close to the events themselves, it reflects an English perspective on the political upheaval and transformation of France at the turn of the 19th century. The pages retain their original typography with visible foxing throughout, adding to the sense of age and authenticity.

Bound in leather with a time-softened patina, the volumes bring both substance and visual weight—ideal for anchoring a shelf or adding depth to a collected arrangement.

Origin: England, 1803.
Material: Leather-bound volumes with printed paper pages.
Condition: Foxing throughout with wear to leather bindings, including rubbing and edge wear consistent with age; structurally intact with some splitting to leather present on along spine edges.
