Spode Archive Collection Botanical Plates

Quantity: Four available. Sold individually.

Beautiful English Spode plates in the Botanical pattern from the Archive Collection, featuring an elegant monochromatic floral design inspired by the company's historic decorative archives.

Each plate features a central arrangement of blooming flowers, delicate buds, and leafy stems rendered in crisp black and white against a softly shaded gray ground. An elaborate floral border frames the composition, with scrolling details and gently scalloped edges that lend the plates the appearance of finely engraved botanical illustrations.

Founded in Stoke-on-Trent in the 18th century, Spode became one of England's most influential ceramic manufacturers, celebrated for its transfer-printed pottery and refined decorative patterns. The Archive Collection revisits designs from the company's extensive historical repertoire, bringing traditional English ceramic decoration into later production. The Botanical pattern reflects this heritage through its detailed floral imagery and restrained, graphic palette.

Marked “Spode England” on the reverse, these plates are a lovely addition to a collection of English transferware. Their black and white coloration pairs beautifully with traditional blue and white china, antique ironstone, and more colorful floral patterns. Equally appealing for table settings, plate racks, or a decorative wall arrangement.
