A handsome English silverplate pedestal relief bowl by R. Gleason & Sons, dating to the late Victorian to early Edwardian period. The bowl features a beautiful central medallion depicting a perched songbird amidst flowering branches, framed by an ornate border of repeating thistle and foliate motifs. Raised on a graceful pedestal foot, it makes an elegant statement whether styled as a centerpiece or displayed on open shelving.
Once the candle has burned, it is equally beautiful styled as a fruit bowl, centerpiece, catchall, or decorative accent on a dining table, console, or kitchen island.
