Passementerie Tassel Tiebacks

A wonderful pair of oversized decorative tassel tiebacks in a soft blue, sage, and warm ivory palette. Each features an elaborate braided cord with multiple loops, a densely woven ornamental tassel head, and long, full fringe.

These are a particularly good example of passementerie, the decorative art of braids, cords, fringes, and tassels used in interior furnishings. Tassel tiebacks have traditionally been used to gather draperies, with the elaborate construction serving as much a decorative purpose as a functional one.

The unusual scale and muted color combination make these especially fun for adding texture and a bit of old-world drama to a room.
