Silverplate Oyster Serving Platter with Cherub Motif
An elaborate silverplate oyster serving platter featuring a richly detailed border of scrolling florals, fruit, and classical ornamentation, centered by a winged cherub figure at the crest. The interior is thoughtfully designed with individual wells surrounding a central dish, traditionally used for serving oysters but equally suited for entertaining or display.
The contrast between the softly worn silver surface and the deeply cast decorative rim gives the piece dimension and presence. A striking example of late Victorian or Edwardian tableware—both functional and highly decorative.
