Neoclassical Brass Mirror Sconce

A late 19th-century brass wall mirror and double candle sconce in the Neoclassical Revival taste, with a pierced foliate frame, twin candle arms, and a particularly decorative crest of stylized dolphins flanking a classical urn. That dolphin-and-urn combination appears on documented American brass mirror sconces of the period, including examples attributed to Bradley & Hubbard. 

The tall rectangular mirror is framed by dense cast ornament, giving the piece an almost architectural presence on the wall. The paired candle cups at the base make it especially atmospheric when lit, while the aged brass and scattered silvering loss to the mirror preserve the character of the original surface rather than making it feel overly restored.
