A handsome set of six late Victorian "King's" pattern silver-plated spoons by James Deakin & Sons of Sheffield, dating to circa 1880–1900. Richly ornamented handles feature the traditional King’s pattern, with a prominent shell at each rounded terminal, curling scroll borders and foliate flourishes extending toward the slender stems. Smooth oval bowls balance the elaborate decoration, while darker patination lends definition to the recessed ornament.
The reverse marks combine the JD&S initials with an EP electroplate designation and the firm’s distinctive desk-bell trademark. This combination supports a late nineteenth-century attribution, placing the spoons within the Victorian tradition of decorative table silver. Beautiful alongside floral porcelain, English transferware or an antique tea service, they bring a cohesive decorative detail to a collected table. Offered together as a set of six.
