A striking vintage art glass vessel featuring an abstract composition of creamy ivory, smoky brown, and translucent amber glass. Its rounded silhouette and richly layered coloration create a sculptural decorative object with a distinctly modernist sensibility.

The bulbous body is decorated with broad, irregular patches of opaque cream glass, intersected by flowing ribbons of smoky brown and translucent glass. These organic shapes wrap continuously around the vessel, creating an almost marbled or tortoiseshell effect that changes with the light. A narrow neck and stepped black collar provide a graphic contrast to the softer, fluid decoration below.

The unusual collar suggests that the piece may originally have served as the reservoir of a decorative oil lamp, with the upper fitting designed to accommodate a burner assembly. While its original function has not been confirmed, the form is consistent with vessels that combined practical lighting with decorative glassmaking. Without the original fittings, it remains an appealing example of expressive art glass in its own right.

Its rich neutral palette and bold abstract pattern would complement antique woods, collected ceramics, and more traditional furnishings. Particularly beautiful displayed independently, the piece offers the visual interest of a small sculptural work.
