An elegant pair of vintage Godinger silver-plated candlesticks featuring elongated stems, ornate floral detailing, and dramatically fluted, scalloped bases. Their sculptural silhouettes combine traditional silverware design with an elaborate, architectural quality, making them a particularly handsome addition to a formal table or mantel.
Each candlestick features a slender, tapered stem rising to a decorative knop embellished with raised foliate motifs and elongated teardrop-shaped panels. Above, an undulating, petal-like collar supports a shaped candle socket. The substantial bases flare outward in a series of sweeping flutes, terminating in deeply scalloped edges with finely molded borders and small teardrop-shaped feet.
Godinger, an American tableware and giftware company established in 1973, is known for its decorative silver-plated serving pieces, candlesticks, and entertaining accessories. The company's designs frequently draw inspiration from historical European silverwork, incorporating elaborate ornament, traditional silhouettes, and classical detailing. This pair reflects those influences through its stylized botanical decoration and flowing, Art Nouveau-inspired forms.
Beautifully suited to a dining table, sideboard, or mantel, these candlesticks make an impressive statement with or without candles. Their sculptural bases and reflective silver-plated finish are especially appealing alongside antique silver, fine porcelain, and traditional table linens, lending an elegant finishing touch to a collected interior.
