A wonderful antique turned exotic hardwood mortar and pestle, distinguished by its exceptionally dramatic, naturally patterned grain. Undulating bands of warm honey, amber, and deep brown wrap around the body, creating an almost striped, sculptural effect. The mortar has a beautifully shaped waisted form with raised borders at the top and base, complemented by a substantial turned pestle with a rounded handle.
Beautiful styled on an open kitchen shelf, tucked among antique pottery and wooden vessels, or displayed on a countertop with cookbooks, cutting boards, and other collected kitchen objects.
