A striking English silverplate biscuit barrel featuring a cylindrical body with vertical beaded banding and finely engraved panels of scrolling florals and cartouche motifs.
The domed lid is crowned with a sculptural finial in the form of a gourd or squash set atop a leafy base, a beautiful example of late Victorian naturalistic detail.
Raised on small claw feet with an integrated tray base, the form feels both substantial and decorative. Originally used for serving biscuits at tea, it now makes a sculptural statement styled on a bar, shelf, or layered tabletop.
Origin: England, late 19th century.
Material: Silverplate.
Dimensions: Approx. [insert].
Condition: Good antique condition; surface wear, light scratching, and soft patina consistent with age; detail remains crisp and displays beautifully.
