Cut Crystal & Bronze Floral Ashtray

An exceptionally decorative French crystal ashtray embellished with richly detailed bronze floral mounts. The clear crystal is deeply cut in a geometric diamond pattern, giving the surface a wonderful play of light, while applied bronze flowers, leaves, and curling stems wrap around the edges in a distinctly botanical arrangement.

Marked “Made in France” to the base, the ashtray dates to the mid-20th century and reflects the period's love of luxurious, highly decorative smoking accessories. French crystal-and-metal smoking pieces from the 1950s and 1960s were designed to be displayed on coffee tables, bars, desks, and smoking tables rather than hidden away as purely utilitarian objects.
