A handsome antique copper gooseneck tea kettle featuring a cylindrical body, elegantly curved pouring spout, and broad arched swing handle. Its substantial, utilitarian form is complemented by a fitted, stepped lid with a small button finial and riveted handle fittings.
Copper kettles were familiar household essentials throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, valued for their excellent heat conductivity and durability. Often incorporating brass fittings for additional strength and decorative contrast, these practical domestic objects have since become desirable additions to traditional kitchens and English country house interiors.
The kettle displays a particularly appealing combination of warm copper and golden brass, with areas of verdigris, oxidation, and darker discoloration developed over time. Its beautifully aged surface and straightforward construction lend it the character of an old household essential, equally suited to display beside a fireplace, on a kitchen shelf, or among a collection of antique metalware. Not fit for food use.
