A beautiful set of three antique Copeland Spode Delhi pattern dinner plates, dating to approximately 1882–1894. The plates feature the intricate black transfer-printed Delhi pattern, with elaborate floral and foliate sprays radiating from the center and a densely decorated botanical border. The monochromatic pattern is wonderfully detailed and characteristic of late Victorian Copeland transferware.
The Delhi pattern was produced by W.T. Copeland & Sons at the Spode works in Staffordshire, England, during the Victorian period. The black version of the pattern is documented to this period, making these particularly lovely examples for collectors of historic English transferware.
