c.1803 Copperplate Engraving of The Templars' Ancient House at Hackney

Published in European Magazine on May 1, 1803, this original copperplate engraving depicts The Templars' Ancient House at Hackney, a historic London residence traditionally associated with the Knights Templar, the influential medieval religious and military order founded during the Crusades.

Drawn and engraved by J. Greig, the print captures the architectural character of early nineteenth-century Hackney and reflects the growing Georgian fascination with documenting Britain's historic buildings and landmarks.
