c. 1885 "Kew" Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. Floral Plate

Sale price$85.00

A late Victorian transferware plate by Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. of Staffordshire, England, decorated with an oversized floral design rendered in rich sepia-brown transferware. Large blossoms sweep dramatically across the surface, reflecting the influence of the Aesthetic Movement and the fascination with Japanese-inspired design that characterized decorative arts of the late nineteenth century.

The organic composition and soft brown palette give the piece a striking decorative presence while remaining versatile enough to layer with both antique and contemporary ceramics. Whether displayed on a wall, incorporated into a plate collection, or styled on a shelf or tabletop, it offers beautiful scale and visual impact.

Registered in England in 1886, the pattern serves as a wonderful example of Victorian transferware produced during one of Staffordshire's most innovative periods of ceramic design.
