Brass Folding Fire Screen with Classical Medallion
An ornate brass folding fire screen featuring a pierced architectural form with radiating fan panels and a central neoclassical column. The crest is adorned with draped swags and a classical profile medallion, topped with a decorative handle, while the hinged panels open gracefully into a symmetrical fan shape. Designed to sit before a hearth, this piece would have originally served as a fire screen to deflect heat while allowing airflow.
The richly pierced brass panels and sculptural base give this piece strong visual presence even when closed, making it equally compelling as sculptural décor.
