18th c. Engraving St. Peter’s Church, Vienna

Sale price$250.00

A finely detailed 18th-century engraving depicting St. Peter’s Church in Vienna, attributed to the circle of Salomon Kleiner, celebrated for his richly composed architectural views of the city. The composition captures the church’s Baroque dome and surrounding streets, animated with figures, carriages, and processions that bring the scene to life.

Executed in precise line engraving, the work reflects the period’s interest in documenting Vienna’s architectural and civic landscape with both accuracy and visual drama. The lower margin retains its original Latin inscription (“Templum Parochiale S. Petri…”), grounding the image in its historical context. Presented in a gilt frame with warm matting, it offers both architectural presence and decorative appeal.

Material: Paper engraving with gilt frame and matting.
Dimensions: Approx. 16.75" W x 12.5" H.
Condition: Light toning and wear consistent with age; frame with minor surface wear; overall very good antique condition.
