18th c. Engraving St. Jacob’s Church, Vienna

Sale price$250.00

A finely detailed 18th-century engraving depicting St. Jacob’s Church in Vienna, attributed to the circle of Salomon Kleiner, known for his richly composed architectural views of the city. The scene captures both the structure and the surrounding urban life, with figures, carriages, and daily activity animating the foreground.

Rendered in precise line engraving, the composition reflects the period’s fascination with documenting Vienna’s ecclesiastical and civic architecture. The lower margin retains its original Latin inscription (“Templ. S. Jacobi…”), grounding the work in its historical and geographic context. Presented in a gilt frame with warm matting, it offers both architectural interest and decorative presence.
