Natural variations in the alabaster create a beautiful marbled effect, with delicate gray veining running throughout the stone. Italian workshops, especially those associated with the historic alabaster-working traditions of Tuscany, produced a wide variety of ornamental bowls, urns, and architectural objects for domestic interiors. This example reflects that tradition through its classical silhouette and polished stone surface.

Beautiful as a centerpiece on a dining table, console, or library table, the bowl offers a lovely contrast to antique woods, silver, and richly patterned textiles. Its shallow form is particularly suited to displaying small decorative objects or simply being appreciated as a sculptural piece.

Origin: Italy, likely 20th century
Material: Carved alabaster
Dimensions: 10" diameter × 3" H
Condition: Vintage condition with natural variations in color and veining, light surface wear, and minor irregularities consistent with age and use.
