A pair of 18th-century theatrical costume engravings from Bell’s British Theatre, depicting Miss Younge as Artemisia and Mrs. Abington as Estifania. These expressive portraits exemplify the lively artistry of Georgian stage illustration, reflecting the fashionable costume and character study that made John Bell’s 1776 publication a landmark in theatrical history.
Origin: England, late 18th century.
Material: Hand-colored copperplate engravings, giltwood frame.
Dimensions: 14" x 11.5".
Condition: Light toning consistent with age; beautifully preserved within a later mat and gilt frame.
